Any home-based business that you do almost always requires selling, and thus needing to know a ton of people to help get you started.
Only other options are thinks like freelance writing, or some medical transcription, and things like that, but that's often hit or miss, or on contract basis, so it's not always any sort of guaranteed pay.
Some companies do offer work from home positions, but you have to really dig for them. SimplyHired usually has some listing (you can search for "work from home"), but you really have to keep an eye out for scams... http://www.simplyhired.com/
If you are crafty, you can always make things and sell them on Etsy, or at Craft Fairs, but that can take a lot of time and energy, since you always have to go to shows and what not, unless you are lucky enough to get a lot of online sales.

I hesitate to suggest on this because I have such high regard for Sweeterthantea. In the same breath, I hesitate not too. With a talent as blessed as yours, you know the answer. As do I. There is no clicking of heels or witches from the East or West. Your answer is courage to find the intelligence you already acquire. The heart to show you have the ability to appreciate your friends, who helped you get to the point of where you are and yourself. Once you believe, no one is going to abandon you. "Auntie Em, Auntie Em," You may find your fears may go away for a while. Lions and Tigers and Bears do exist. Good Witches and Bad Witches too. Good luck to you on following your dreams. Remember, fears are there indeed... but, only you can control them not to exceed.. Boundaries. You did create them . You can take them away. You are a very good person.. You have all the talents needed as shown in the characters of "The Wizard of Oz." You do have the brains. You do have the heart, You do have the courage. You do have the animals. You do have YOU. That is the most important. And your little dog too! I love animal energy! You're going to do great. :)
