How do you find the percent of change?

Example 8 inches to 24 inches...Whats the percent of change of that?

Report as

you went from 8 to 24, so that's 16.
so that's 16/24 which is equal to 2/3 which is equal to 66.6%

Report as
This would be right if 24 was the starting amount.
Report as
so you had to put 16/8................

How many inches are there, all together ?
Report as
STAR024 is right, it's a 200% increase.
(24 - 8 ) / 8 = 16/8 = 2

Change over original

Report as
So it would be 24/8 which equals 3%? i
That doesn't seem right
Report as
It would be 3, which is 300%. You can say "24 is 300% of 8". but that's a percentage, not a percent change.

Even though 16 is 200% of 8, it's only a 100% change.

Multiply by 100 to express as a percentage.
