No. Mediums are very good at reading body language. They say generalized things and watch for reactions in the audience. Sometimes they have people planted in the audience. They will say things like "I am getting something from a man whose name begins with G." And they're watching the audience for anyone to react. A few more general comments about this mysterious G, always watching for reactions, and then they center in on some gullible person and pretend G wants to talk to them. Watch the program The Mentalist. The character Patrick Jayne explains a lot of these things as part of the plot, since his character used to be a fake medium. I have heard these explanations from other sources as well. Mediums are experts at psychology and how to pick out the most gullible people in an audience and play into their beliefs.
Fake. Have you seen the TV show The Mentalist? That what 'mediums' are. They are excellent psychologists and socioligists and magicians. They know a lot alot the human mind and condition and read body language and facial expressions and other unspoken communication as experts. And they are expert interrogators. Really watch and listen. They start out with a list of fairly easy common expectations most people want: am i pregnant, will i meet true love, is he/she cheating, wanna talk to/have news of dead parent/spouse/child/lover. They never give specifics like names first. They get the person to provide names then they ask fairly generic questions, esp at first and then WATCH the person they are questining looking for the 'tell' that will lead them to another question. It others words it is fake. A bunch of psych magic slight of mind. I knew a guy back in college in the psychology program who could do it so well it gave you chills. He could ask just a few questiins then tell a person very accurately things about their life. He wasnt a medium and didnt claim to be but he was SO good at reading and understanding people and the human condition.
If you communicate with someone from the dead, it is not who you think it is. Besides, once someone dies, they can not cross over again to the living (Luke 16:26). Since fallen angels (demons) have lived for thousands of years, they know the traits and tendencies of deceased family members and can appear to sound like or look like those who are deceased. It is dangerous for anyone to even try. Once a person dies they are in only one of two places. In torment and separated from God or with the Lord in a state of bliss. In either place that soul will live forever. It will be either in agony and regret or in joy and happiness..both will be forever.
