what is the believed that the earth was the center of the solar system and the orbit were circular shap.

The Geocentric model proposed that the Earth is at the center of everything, with the sun and the planets orbiting in a circle around us. The Ancient greeks supported this belief.

Heliocentrism was an opposing model which said that the entire Universe orbits around our Sun. We now know that only our solar system orbits around the Sun, as is the case with solar systems of other galaxies as well.

Not all ancient Greeks thought the Earth was the centre of the solar system. But early science was often in a battle with religion and superstition.
