How do I tell my mom I love her? I know LAME question? sorry?

I'm 18 & Let's just say tomorrow might be the last day I see her permanently, I don't want to explain. I have never said I love her in my life, that I can remember. Even when I was little, when she said she loves me, I'd always joke & said,"I hate you too." & she laugh. But as I got older I started to really mean it. I know I'm stupid for meaning it. Even as I got older & we started fighting more & more & hating each other, BUT she still always ask if I want anything like from the store or whatever, & she'd go out of her way just for some little like toothpaste.

I'm afraid it'll be extremely awkward if I tell her. But I just have this thing in the back of my head that I have to tell her. How do I do it without being awkward? What if she doesn't say it back?

Oh my God....that is so sad. SO sad. : ( You may never see you mom again.....EVER? OMG, I can't even imagine.
You MUST hug her tightly, you MUST. Don't let go, and tell her as you hug her that you love her. (Man, I'm almost crying over this)
So what if it's awkward? Your mom will tell you the same back, of course she will. As you said, she did those things for you because she loves you. She gave birth to you; she can't not love you, despite your history. PLEASE do this....... you may never, ever have the chance again, and think how great it will make you both feel.
If you are sorry for your past actions, also tell her that. Don't leave anything unsaid....unless it's negative. Now isn't the time for that.
Wow, how tragic. I hope things go as well as you hope.

Don't worry about her saying it back. You just tell her that you love her, especially if you don't think you'll ever see her again. Don't let the moment pass you by, because you'll end up living with guilt.

Just tell her before she goes to bed tell her goodnight I love you and I'm sure she'll say it back but don't be surprised if she says I hate you too hahah but of course she won't mean that and she'll be touched with you saying that since you never have before

That's a sad story. I'm 18 too and it sounds a lot like me in some ways. I honestly don't know what to tell you but I understand what it's like a little bit.

Tell her, child. Just open your mouth and say it. "Mom, I love you. I always loved you. I don't know why I didn't say it, but I'm saying it now." The day will come when she won't be with you any longer, perhaps even alive but so ill with old age that she can't understand you. And it will haunt you the rest of your life. Tell her.

Your mom continued to love you when it was hard to do so. Give her the gift she has always given you - Love. It would be something she will always cherish, not only saying the words to her, but put them to paper so she can relive the moment you told her when you are not there. If you can go the extra mile and record your voice so she can hear your love at those times she needs a lift.I know she loves you very much. It is never too late to do the right thing.

Why can 't you say why you need to tell your mom you love her. That you won't see her anymore!

Saying I love you is for you, just like gift giving, expect nothing in return. It's how YOU feel and it's a gift to the person who hears it. They can reciprocate with their gift of love or just say thank you, or nothing, it doesn't matter. You have put yourself out there for love and that's good. Wrap it in a hug and feel good!

I agree with deepdark. Just tell her. If writing it would make it easier then do that. Trust me. They may not show it but sometimes those three words from your child's mouth can change their entire lives!
