What type of wine is the best tasting?

depends on what you like , for me its ice wine its a sweet tasting wine

I guess it depends on what your guests prefer on terms of bitter, sweet, or inbetween, but ice wine is a nice choice regardless it tastes really good

Since you are buying for a get together I recommend a white wine , but stay away from the too sweet dessert wines . I'd go with a Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio.

Depending on your personal taste buds :) To keep this light. I am more partial to a dry Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Beringer makes a reasonably priced Chardonnay. This would compliment any fish, summer lite meal. Think white meat, white wine. Same with the Cabernet. I always think: red meat red wine. An easy way to remember. I hope this helps :)
