Well I enjoyed the shining very much. It wasnt exactly horrifying, more psychological. Very good.

If you don't get lost in the movie, it'll never be scary.

Something psychological. The worst nightmares are the ones in our minds. The nagging feeling that something is wrong with "dave", the suspicion that "sarah" is a bit unbalanced.

I agree, love that movie. But I was expecting something a little better for the spirit Mama herself.

People who aren't scared easily by horror movies should watch movies that are original from back in the day, like The Exorcist from 1973 or Candyman from 1992. I am a grown women, and those movies still creep me out.

I would try either The original Exorcist, or maybe the original Amityville Horror both of which were based on true events.

Anything Exorcist because the basic roots of the Exorcist story are true. And when something is true, you can't just write it off as a movie. Not to mention it's effed up.

"The Frankenstein Theory" Its a different kind of horror movie. but its believeable, which is what truly makes a good horror movie.

I Know What You Did Last Summer. Also there was this really good movie about a young man who could not control his hand. It was done by a small independent film crew. If you can ever find the name of it that is a good one.

Insidious, Sinister, The messengers, Paranormal Activity 4, Child's eye, Carrie (original), Misery (original), Pet sematary, and my top two personal faves (and it is really hard to scare me too) Cujo and 1408.
