How long does a person stay in jail if they missed there child support hearing? And what happens after they get out of jail?

Report as

First I've heard of anyone being sent to jail for missing a child support hearing. Usually, the other party just wins by default.

This depends on the state they live in as laws vary by jurisdiction. Typically one rarely exceeds a year in jail as failure to pay child support is merely considered contempt of court. If you have a lawyer, have him or her explain the specifics of this in your home state.
