What is the most accurate way to assess the value of your home without going to an appraiser?

Alameda, Oakland, East Bay

Hello,

1. Find a realtor with access to $$$ subscription services and ask them to do you a favor.

2. For a lesser accurate (ballpark idea), I suggest to download the latest 'S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices' data. This is a measurement of actual home sales across major US metros, and can be relatively compared across other periods of time. You'd probably want to look at CA-San Francisco.

Check out Zillow.com. It will give you a reasonable approximation of your home value based on recent home sales in your area
