well we dont want to keep them out we just want to make them come here legally so they can live like we do. if they dont come here legally then people pay them under the table and they dont pay into social security and then when they get old they can find a way around it and take a social securtiy check when they didnt even pay into it which causes social securty to dissappear. there alot more to it just not enough room to put it all out their. point is if an immagrant wants to become a citizen here all they have to do is get a visa to come here and then pass our immagration test
There's a difference between being bought to America against your will and sneaking in illegally. Illegal immigrants do not contribute to our economy financially because they don't pay taxes, but are the first to demand rights. Bottom line, if they're not citizens you don't have any rights in this country. Especially here in Southern California, our schools are over crowded with illegal immigrant children, they are able to receive benefits from the state, and expect us to learn their language. Basically we are supposed to cater to them. Wow.
The majority of people here aren't against immigrants, well the legal ones. We don't want and are sick of illegal immigrants who broke the law coming here, take some of our jobs, don't pay taxes and don't carry car insurance. They are a nuisance and danger to our society. Deport the illegals and keep the legal immigrants. And technically I'm not an immigrant, my ancestors are. I was born here so I'm a natural citizen.
People who oppose illegal immigration specifically say that the immigrants will take away their jobs, not pay taxes, break laws, do something bad for economy/society/govt etc.
People who oppose all immigration (and the legalization of immigration) say that the legal immigrants will do some of these bad things as well, and also refuse to be a part of American culture or learn English, and do some other bad things too.
If there's anything I haven't mentioned please comment. I'm just writing this off the top of my head so I don't remember all the things that each side argues.
Personally, most of the legal immigrants (that i know) are harsher and think worse of the illegal immigrants than non-immigrants do. Because they went through the system legally and it was difficult. Therefore the legal immigrants have little to no respect for the people who try to get what the legal immigrants had to work so hard for, for free (or a lot less time-wise). It is a tough process for a reason, and those too lazy to do it do not deserve to be treated equally to those who have. On another note, there is the issues of gang relations due to over-population. And it is easier to join a gang than get legalized and get a real job. Therefore illegals look at gangs as opportunities rather than problems. Illegals also fly under the radar of the government which exempts them from the contributions the rest of us make towards the well-being and economic growth of the nation. And if you know legal people who are cheating the system, don't think that people like them any more than illegals. Because i certainly have more respect for immigrants (legal or illegal) than those people that betray and cheat their home country.
In my opinion, we are supposed to be a nation of laws, at this time we have a process for gaining admission to this country legally , as does nearly every other nation ! There is no opposition to immigration as such , just to those that try to circumvent the system and suck up the benefits , what happened a couple of hundred years ago, happened , and is no justification to behave illegally today !
Immigrant is not a nationality, because my ancestors were immigrants, does not make me one. Those of us born here are natural citizens. There's a difference between illegal aliens, and immigrants.I wish people would stop using the word immigrant, to describe, illegal aliens. they are not the same thing, not even close. Few Americans have a problem with Immigrants.
