Hi Sandra. Today went really well. They loved the food. I spent the hour in the kitchen rolling out the hot food so didn't get to mingle much, but they all thought it was so good. My supervisor took a couple of quiches to our big boss. She said they were bloody good, & wow that girl can cook. I consider that my best asset. After it was all over today there was a mountain of dishes & today was the busiest I've ever seen our kitchen. It was good. He was a painter found on a talent show. He became famous with his Paul Hogan Show. It was made up of comedy scetches. He went on to be Ambassador for Australia with the tourism industry. He made the phrase "throw another (shrimp or prawn) on the Barbie" famous. Then he did Crocodile Dundee. Watch it on DVD. It's a great movie. He then divorced his wife of 30 or 40 odd years & married his young leading lady of Crocodile Dundee. She was a lot younger. He is getting on now & I'm guessing in his 70's now.

Forgive me it's "HOMEMADE PAVLOVA WITH CREAM & MIXED BERRIES ON TOP " you can also have this with whipped cream, sliced strawberries, sliced mango & orange segments & passion fruit pulp drizzled over it in your bowl. It is the most delicious desert in Australia. Some people have this instead of a birthday cake. Can I have another slice of pavlova please is the catchcry they use here.

Report as

It like heaven in a bowel, it's so soft in the centre & has a crunchier chewy shell on the outside. Google the recipe & make a half recipe to taste it. Once decorated with cream & toppings of your choice, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. If you like sweet dishes you will love this. The passion fruit pulp gives it a tang. Believe me it's good. Here in Australia you can buy it in powder form in a plastic egg shaped container & you just add water to make the pavlova shell. This is the cheats way but a lot of people use it rather than making it from scratch. A tip. Use free range fresh farm eggs & you will get a higher bigger pavlova as a result rather than using caged chook eggs.

It was great seeing her again & she still calls me mum as I'm her Aussie mum. She recently became an Aunty so as the baby was the first grandchild in the family I sent over 2 knitted koala bear toys for her nephew. They were so happy to have the Aussie icons. Tourism Australia is at it again, trying to encourage foreign tourists to visit our country.

Predictably, not everyone is happy with TA's efforts. Either the soundtrack sucks (which it kind of does), or the footage is full of clich?s, or there's not enough cultural diversity. It's a tough one to balance, and it's worth bearing in mind that the campaign is not meant to impress Australians ? it's meant to impress people who are considering coming to Australia.

But who are those people, and what do they actually think of this wide brown land of ours? Is it a place they still want to visit? Is it a place they know anything about? And what's going to persuade them to take the plunge and book a ticket over here?

Travel around the world a bit and you meet plenty of people, some who've already been to Australia, some who've always dreamed of coming to Australia, and those who have no intention at all.

Yes Sydney is such beautiful city in Australia. I like to visit again and again because of their beautiful destination like Opera house, Blue mountain, Sydney harbour national park, Bondi beach and so on.

Go to the Mornington peninsula, its an hr or so's drive from Melbourne in Victoria. I was born & grew up down there. It's lovely down there if you like cappachinos, the beach & shopping.

It works for me by clicking the link or by clicking the thumbnail, I checked both after posting them and again now. Sorry about that, here is a fresh copy of the web address taken from YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqCyTM1bF6Q

If that doesn't work, and you're interested, go to YouTube and do a search for "Hilltop Hoods Nosebleed Section"
It's a very simple video of some young adults playing and doing tricks on bikes. It's just something nice to put with the song, which is a pleasant, happy hip-hop song by one of the biggest hip-hop talents in Australia.

I listen to a lot of music, and this song just happened to be the first thing I thought of after reading your question.

Sorry for the trouble!

Thankyou for wanting to share it with me. It may work from my comp, just not my iPhone. When I go on next I will look it up. Thankyou.
