I just rescued a stray dog, she's in heat and has a fever and no appetite, she also had bloody diarrhea, is this normal?

her diet has obviously been changed due to the fact she was a stray 5 days ago, she seems to be having seizure like episodes only when she's sleeping which I can wake her up out of, she was found with a collar so she was obviously someone's pet once (not chipped or tagged) but I haven't given her shots yet, I took her to the vet for a general check up and they seemed to think her being in heat was causing the fever, I am extremely worried and just want to make sure she's okay.

Keep on rescuing and get her to a vet. Save that poor dog.

A dogs normal body temp is approx 101?-102?f.
Her being in heat can raise her temperature. However, if her temp is above 104?f, I would call your vet.
The bloody diarrhea is Not normal. Dogs can have digestion issues when their food is changed, but that, as well as being in heat, should Not cause blood to appear in the stool.
As far as seizures while she is sleeping... to me this sounds like she is dreaming. The dreams can resemble seizures, and they may look and sound distressing, but are harmless. (Our dog even 'cries', and barks in her sleep.) If you can wake her up immediately out of this seizure type thing, I don't think it's a seizure. After a seizure, both humans and animals alike will sleep deeply.

It's anyones guess what this dog has endured during it's time as a stray. Who knows how long it has had to forage for food and defend itself. The fever could be explained by the heat cycle .. the bloody diarrhea, may not have anything to do with a heat cycle. Has your vet done a complete check up?

VETERINARY VISIT NOW!!!!!!!!! It sounds like rabies, parvo, or something very serious. DO NOT expose this do go other dogs AT ALL!!! Especially if she is having these symptoms! She needs medical attention NOW!
