Are there requirements regarding the distance to a nearest "no parking" sign? How far does the nearest posted notice need to be?

I recently received a parking ticket(they clear the street on certain days for cleaning), but the nearest sign was 364ft behind me in a direction I didn't come from. It seems unfair to expect someone to walk more than half a city block behind themselves to see the nearest "No Parking" sign. Is there any legal limitation in California or San Diego that would back me up on this? It just seems really unreasonable, who walks THAT FAR behind their parking spot to see if they need to move their car early in the morning?

There is no requirements regarding the distance to a nearest "no parking" sign unless it has been indicated. The sign should be at a location where just about everyone can view it. Therefore, you may have the right to defend yourself. You can hire a legal representative for your case.

I agree they can't expect you to know signs you didn't drive past. If you turned into the street after the sign from a side street there should have been another sign at the junction. But I'm not in the USA, so I may be wrong.

Great effort trying to make me look foolish for asking my question, but you obviously failed to read the question yourself. I already stated that I did not come from the direction of the sign - which means that no, I did not pass it. Now you look rather foolish.

You also didn't bother to read the whole question before posting your initial reply. My mistake is an easy miss, because I didn't drive past the sign, you put yourself out there trying to make someone look stupid before you bothered to read the whole question. I'm being penalized for something no one would have known, you're looking foolish for something posted right in front of you.

How about the signs on the other side that you did drive by??? I know when I see a sign that says something about opposite side parking, I check every sign around, especially now, that my city just raised the fines, by TWENTY FIVE BUCKS!!! The cheapest ticket is $75
