How to make sure Betty Crocker fudge brownies turn out perfect?! every time I make them they come out cake like.

Report as

There are instructions on the box for a thicker chewier brownie . Use one egg less and when baking be sure to test for doneness like this:

Insert toothpick in the corner about 1" from the pan - not 2" like the box says. When it comes out clean (no batter on the toothpick) it will be done. The center will still be a bit gooey, but will finish cooking as it is cooling. If you test in the center, the edges will be over cooked.

Perfect fudge-like texture every time.

That's going back a few years. I remember a newspaper cartoon of the time showing a couple of aborigines singing "If I knew you were comiing I'd have baked a snake."

Lol! My grandmother used to sing this all the time.

I always add a little extra oil than what it calls for and they are perfect every time. Maybe 1/8 to 1/4 cup more
