What's a quick and easy way to get rid of dry skin bumps?

I have dry skin bumps and it really irritates me when all my friends have smooth skin and I don't!!! Lotion doesn't always help but if you have suggestions involving lotion please share away! PS don't judge my dry skin...

I have this too! This is what I've been doing and it helps loads:
After I get out of the shower, I use Jergens lotion for extra dry skin. It works really well! Make sure you use lotion after you shower, because your skin absorbs it a lot better after being in warm water. Good luck!

Had these most of my younger years... read about this on a blog... celebrities use this trick... Keep a sponge in the shower and use it with a moisturizing body wash or a glycerine soap like Clearly Natural or Kirks Castille. Use a sponge that is yellow on one side and green rough side... use the green rough side and scrub the bumps away. Then while still wet, rub baby oil or bio-oil on skin and let air dry. Those bumps will be gone in 2 weeks. JUST USING LOTIONS WON'T DO IT.

You need to use a good quality lotion like Eucerin after you shower, everyday.

We've successfully helped people smooth their stubborn bumpy pores (arms, back, etc) using a laser treatment that cleans the surface of the skin allowing the pores to act more normal and stop being clogged up. It is often a genetic condition. Usually two to three treatments gets the skin healthy looking and feeling again. I would recommend this to be followed with some of the other topical treatments mentioned otherwise in these answers to keep the condition from returning.

I have eczema, and what helps is applying a lotion that fits your skin, and scrubbing wherever the skin is dry and irritated with a wash cloth daily.

I would like to suggest that you should use the body lotion daily after taking bath. It will not give you result in few days, but if you will use body lotion regularly, then it will definitely moisturize your skin. You will see the good result in a month on your skin. You can also consult to any skin specialist so that he/she can give you proper prescription. There is not any quick way to get rid of dry skin for longer time.

I have the same problem and it drives me crazy! Here's how I deal with it.

While in the shower, I use soapy loofa gloves and scrub fairly hard followed by a sugar scrub using bare hands. It'll turn the skin red (it's my upper arms), but it'll almost completely get rid of the little bumps immediately. When you get out of the shower, apply a generous amount of a thick lotion and really rub it in. I use Eucerin, they make a lotion to help get rid of the bumps. Good luck!

I agree with lollyy above, use a loofah and lightly scrub. After I would use a product called CapriClear. Its an all natural moisturizer that is formulated for dry, itchy skin. I use it and highly recommend it. It will leave your skin smooth and soft. Give it a try!

I use to have this, Everytime I get out of the shower I use my normal lotion (You're skin has to get use to One prodect, Good to use the one you normaly use) then pat you're skin down with a dry clean towel softly (this'll make you're skin really soft and smooth) The bumps well go after a week. mine went away in 7 days o:

Showering frequently can cause dry skin, also the temperature at which you shower can cause dry skin. Take warm showers over hot showers, don't use shower gels because most of them contain alcohol (Dove bran is good tho), only use your hands to lather up because everything else is abrasive, and put on some good (like lubriderm, goldbond, aveeno) non scented lotion after a shower and/or shave. You should be good then.

I use Prosanol by Swedish Skin Care. I use it after showering and it like locks in moisture and just leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Its thinner than regular lotions and comes in a spray bottle which I really love. But good luck, I hope you find something that works great for you too!

i have a similar problem and i do not think it is "cured" with lotions or scrubs. Dry skin can be an indicator of a thyroid condition...in fact it is a symptom along with dark circles under the eyes, and hair falling out more frequently than normal...i have decided that the lotions are just a momentary fixer. I believe the problem is more indicative of a body function imbalance. it is worth a try to talk to your doctor about this.

Dry skin on the face is the real problem. Basically, you need to do next things: 1. purchase humidifier, 2. use moisturizer for dry skin (Glycolix cream work good for me). More remedies for dry skin you can find at http://www.skincareformenandwomen.com/dry-skin/
