A radiation lab orders 64 Ci of P-42. After 42 days the activity of the sample is 8.0 Ci. What is the half-life of P-32

Report as

The physical half-life for P-32 is 14.3 days, while its biological half-life is 1,155 days. Half-life is typically used to describe the radioactive decay, and is the time required for a quantity to fall to half its value as measured from the beginning of the time period. Looks like you looked up the half life instead of calculate it from the given data...

64 Ci is cut in half 3 times (32, 16, then 8). So 42 days is 3 half lives and one half life is exactly 14 days.
