Do you think that Jodi Arias should have gotten the death penalty or life?

Jodi Arias brutally murdered her ex boyfriend, Travis Alexander, by stabbing him about 28 times, slitting his throat from ear to ear, and shooting him in the head, all because he had been moving on with his life.

No. Life in prison. It is worse than the death penalty...in my opinion, because you have to live with that quilt of you killing someone..rather than just dying right then.

Very true.

That's only true if you are a person who feels guilt and by all appearances, Arias is not a person who feels guilt. She still considers herself a victim.

Oh..well still.

But my problem with that is 1. We support them. And 2. If you have so savagely killed someone. You have no conscience to begin or feel guilt with!!!

Exactly stryid, she has no remorse, so she won't care either way. So we might as well bump her off and save a little cash on the prison food.

I say death penalty is deserved, warranted and needed in this case! Inmates get institutionalized after a while. Don't warehouse another out right killer. She will have 8-10 years to think about her crime until they get around to giving her the juice!

Here in Arizona we have people on death row for over twenty years! It's ridiculous!

Actually there are many crimes just as bad or worse, involving many more people, which the perpetrator didn't receive the death penalty.

I am aware. :) I never stated what my opinion was.

Northanger- The only thing that means is that there are people who deserved the death penalty and didn't get it.

Death penalty. She's less of a tax burden that way.

I don't promote the death penalty usually. For fear of an innocent person being on death row ( we have seen this happen and fortunately we now have DNA testing. But for her ( she FINALLY confessed. I say death. But look at the other female that killed her young precious daughter (Florida). A few yrs back. How is it she gets off. Our judicial system has holes in it the size of the Grand Canyon Just depends on how much $money$ you have and that to me is horrific !!!

I never heard the verdict on her sentencing. In my opinion I would say death only because if she were a man that's what she would have gotten. It has always been hard to sentence a woman to death.

The verdict came back as a hung jury. :( They couldn't all agree. A new jury will be chosen and will have to try to agree now.

Ok. Thank you. I don't generally follow that stuff. Have you ever seen the move "I Want to Live" with Susan Hayward? She won an acadamy award for that. It was a true story about the first woman to be sentenced to death in 1920 something. Now-a-days if you get the death sentence it takes forever because of the appeals before they actually enact that. If it were me in Jodi's position, I would demand death. Who would want to spend the rest of their life in prison?

I'm not saying I condone the death penalty but the people did get to vote on it & the majority rules when we got to vote on it in my State.

The death penalty...that way I won't have to pay for her food, clothes and health care for the next 60 years.

No, I don't think she should have gotten the death penalty.A life sentence with no chance of parole, would have been more approiate. She'd have the rest of her life, to think about her crime.

You don't think she's going to dwell on all that unpleasant stuff, do you? She still considers herself a victim!
