Why does it sometimes feel like my heart kind of stops for a quick second and then goes back to normal beating?

it's real quick and them it goes normal again, it's kinda scary. when it happens it makes me do a little jump almost and a gasp for air. could someone please help me. it's been happening for months now. and I mainly notice it when I drink soda but I only drink a little when there's absolutely nothing else to drink

im thinking of two things. When you talk about it happens when drinking i have had that and i remember my farther telling me about a time he passed out from drinking a pepsi i think it was, but i think that only happens when its very cold. Another thing that comes to mind is a heart murmur.
The two types of heart murmurs are innocent (harmless) and abnormal.

Innocent heart murmurs aren't caused by heart problems. These murmurs are common in healthy children. Many children will have heart murmurs heard by their doctors at some point in their lives.

People who have abnormal heart murmurs may have signs or symptoms of heart problems. Most abnormal murmurs in children are caused by congenital (kon-JEN-ih-tal) heart defects. These defects are problems with the heart's structure that are present at birth.

Get your thyroid checked. Or stop with the energy drinks.

Maybe you have an irregular heartbeat such as a-fib. Get an EKG. Stop drinking sodas.
