Is there a difference between sex and making out?

sorry this is an awkward question. and if so, what's the difference? (I've learned sex is only allowed after marriage. but I've always thought making out to be basically kissing....)

Ok, first of all, sex isn't only allowed after marriage (who told you that???). The only laws put into place about sex is really age of consent laws, which is the age a person can legally engage in sexual activities (in the USA, its anywhere from 16 to 18, depending on the state). And second of all, yes there is a different. Making out is just kissing and touching.

The Catholic religion teaches that sex isn't allowed until after marriage

That doesn't mean it's law. For some, marriage isn't even an option. It doesn't make someone a bad person.

making out is just snogging (or kissing). having sex is sexual intercourse

llUmm there is no law that says there is an age requirement for either, but it is a good idea to not have sex until you are at least 20.

Sex is when a man inserts his penis into a woman's vagina

I hope I cleared this up for you.

I would ask your parents. Your obviously very young. Also, it's not a law that you have be married to have sex. It's more of a recommendation, as you can get pregnant.
