Is $40,000 a fair price for a full suit of authentic samurai armor?

I'm planning to buy one for Halloween :)

Make sure you find a suitable place to donate it to afterwards, you don't want to have someone spend all their time polishing the durn thing do you? lol!

Real samurai armor was made of bamboo--did you know that? I found it interesting. Of course, it needed polishing too.

I'm fine with polishing I'm collect things all the time

no, did not know that koichan, makes sense though. Would make it even more difficult to maintain; temperature and humidity even bigger factors! Oof!
Euraka, you'd need a whole super air controlled set up!

I have 50 air-conditioning units at my house ^_^

So you are causing that hole in the Ozone layer! Turn off 45! LoL!

Donate the Armor to the Met!:-).

Eureka, I find that difficult to believe. No one has that many units, they have central air-conditioning. I think you're messing with us, and not doing a very good job of it either.

Donate the armor but I like my armor :(

@chan you must not be from California

Yes... It would probably be better ( and a lot less expensive) if you get a fake one. Or even just a modern remake.

For you maybe but I'm into expensive collectibles

Okay then. It might be a bit more expensive than 40,000 though.

Well... I don't mean to sound rude, or discouraging, when I say that's a f**k ton of money for a Halloween costume

Depends on the condition, have it authenticated and appraised

If you light your cigars with $100 bills, then no, it sounds about right. If you're buying it as an investment, I doubt it's ever going to go up in value. With all due respect Eureka. Have you ever heard of the phrase, "a fool and his money are soon parted".

I don't smoke I'm a collector

It was meant as a metaphor. If it's worth the money for you, then buy it. I think it's way to pricey for my tastes.

Seriously?... I never knew Halloween costumes could cost that much, but if you're rich than yeah go for it I guess. Just saying I would not ever pay that much for no damn rag piece of clothing truth be said. I would go in nude with leaves as my clothes before I would ever pay that much money on one outfit... LOL!

It's a real suit not a fake

I was gonna say I'd get black sweats and some black headgear, but that sounds good too!!

Then like I said if you've got the money honey then sure go ahead and buy it and hope it looks at least either scary as hell or adorable on you. And Josh that's just going the all natural way wouldn't you agree? Lmao!
Report as
Of course!
Can't complain about that, I like organic food! Lol
Report as
Then again the leaves would wilt up and turn crunchy... Oh well just would have to get more leaves and wear. And I like some organic food too. Lol
