Why do States have another name for it? like for example New York is known as "Empire State" why do they have those?
Those are called nicknames... and their is really no reason for it. Just another name.... no biggie.
Because usually it's something that represents the state ..like California's gold rush gave it the nickname " The Golden State"....Georgia is "The Peach State" because they grow amazing peaches....
It is a name bestowed upon a state for various reasons. Like Kansas is the sunflower state (even though we don't actually have many sunflowers). Sometimes its history of the state like NY
It's just a slogan. almost like a business....just for the taste of it DIET COKE : )
I live in New Jersey which used to be the Garden State.Where would "State of Insanity" be located?
