What can a person gain from having your wi-fi pass code?

If someone has your wi-fi pass code are they able to get into your system and hack your software. Or is it simply they can and/or just have access to your main internet?

With your wi-fi code they can access your router and use your bandwidth from your internet provider. If you have monthly download limits, they can potentially exceed them and cost you money.

Using your internet bandwidth could potentially slow your internet service.....

Your router has a traceable IP address, that if someone uses your internet service, and does something illegal, the authorities can trace back to you. For example if someone illegally downloaded music, you could potentially be charged as the IP traces back to you.

And yes, with your wi-fi password, they potentially have access to your computer, but ideally you have security software to prevent that.......

These are worst case scenario, I share my password and wifi internet with all kinds of people with no problems.... but there is always the risk......

They could sniff your wireless traffic and steal sessions for websites like Facebook, Google (Gmail), Xbox Live (Windows Live), etc. Which would give them access to your accounts, showing why you should always logout and websites should implement password to see sensitive data even when logged in. You should never let someone on your internet that you don't trust.
