How is the Mitchell report signifigant to history?

I think this report was published in 2007 and had to do with the issue of Major league baseball players and steroid abuse. Can someone tell me how it changed history? Has there been any legislation or baseball policies changed because of it? Was anyone kicked out of the Major Leagues? Thanks!

Report as

It detailed rampant steriod abuse in maj or league baseball.Such stars as Sammy Sosa, Mark McGuire, Rafael Palmeiro, Barry Bonds were shown to be rampant steriod abusers. Now major will suspend a player 50 games, for a first offense of steriod use.
