If your spouse was talking personal and very private things outside the marriage what effect would it have in confiding in them?

Report as

1. that's your spouse, the one person you are able to be your self with and share every intimate detail with. when they tell other people, its breaking trust. which leads to resentment, which can in turn break your relationship.

what i would do is sit down with your spouse and CALMLY and without letting your emotions override you, explain to them that they have broken your trust and how you feel about the situation. if they still can't seem to understand why it is a big deal or what they did wrong, give them an example stating you wouldn't tell someone what your spouse does in the comfort of your home.

Personally, a great deal. Trust/loyalty are two of the major components of a healthy relationship. Discuss/work out any problems on a personal level. If not possible to resolve mutual concerns, move on. Short and sweet. Sometimes the truth hurts, but usually much less than the alternative. Safe Journey.

I would be inclined to confide in them less, and I would make it known to them that I didn't appreciate private matters being discussed with outsiders.

It may have a negative effect on both you and your husband in case the people being confided in decide to discuss your problems with others. The best thing to do is to suggest that both of you should see a marriage counselor so as to figure out the best cause of action to take.
