Longitude refers to long lines running from North to South Pole on a map. Latitude on the other hand, refers to lateral lines stretching between East and West.

well just remember long up and down, and latitude left to right on the globe, its not rocket science

Its easy longitude is long so its going up, Latitude is like a ladder were you step on.
