Do people turn into skeletons or crumble into dust when they die?

This is a serious question about the aging process, now I already know that everyone dies but i want to know what happens when they do.

In movies and stuff they turn into skeletons or crumble into dust after they've been aged too far, but I want to know if it's all true or not.

Does that really happen or not? Please, no troll answers please. I asked on yahoo answers and someone replied with "what are you, five?"

well the meat and skin decay leaving behind only the bones which are harder and last longer, as far as turning to dust they are still digging up dinosaur bones from millions of years ago so probably not. depending on the climate and surroundings the body decays faster or slower and if wind or water is present it can slowly wear away the bone turning it to dust but not like the movies where they find a skeleton and touch it and it crumbles to dust in their hands. bone normally calcifies making it hard as rock.

Those dinosaur bones are not actually the bones, they're fossils OF the bones. The molecules of the bones are replaced, they become mineralized ... THANK YOU HISTORY CHANNEL! :-)

Does it take longer if the person or object is slightly larger in size?

also i would think dinosaur bones are larger and stronger than humans i ponder this question cause i want to be creamated and wonder if we eventually turn to dust anyway

When people die they have a chemical perserver put into them to perserve their body. Depending on how well the job was done nothing should change about the body and if you were to dig it up 16 years after it was buried it should be excatly the same.
