How long does it take for a cut to heal?

Please help! I have a school dance in 5 days and I was just going for a swim today when I slipped and cut my leg on the side of the pool (which is made of rock). It is about the size of a regular pointer fingernail and it was bleeding a bit. It is kinda deep, but not very much. I know for sure that there will be a bruise, but how long does it take for the scab to appear? And will a cut be easy to cover with foundation or anything?

If its narrow and deep, by tomorrow probably. If its like if you fell of a bike and scraped your knee, longer than 2 and proabally not easy to cover. Heck, I still have a scar from scraping my knee from 3 years ago.

Someone thought it'd be fun to stick a glob of hot glue on my arm.. almost three years ago. The scar remains, although faded..

I don't know how long it will take to scab over but if you cover it with a band aid it will heal really quickly.

a band aid will not help because the scab cannot breathe/heal with itbeing covered!!!!!

Can be days or weeks depending on the type of wound and your body's ability to heal. If you take medicine, it can heal faster too. If you have diabetes, it might heal longer.

it will take more then five days to heal but if its not deep or big then it will not be that noticeable because it will heal considerably, just don't tear of a scab because then it will scar and you will have it forever.

well it all depends. if the cut is pretty deep i think the scab should appear in a 1-3 days. it all depends on the cut and really your immune system, some people heal faster then other's if there immune system is good or high. so i'm not sure but i'm thinking 1-2 days. just make sure its clean, put a band-aid on it and leave it be. you can use natural cocoa butter stick on it if it leaves a mark,( which i'm sure it would) that should help it go away because it did with my mom and older sister. and vitamins are VERY good for the immune system and helping things heal faster so you should take them everyday on a daily basis, and use the coca butter stick on it on a daily basis, day and night so it could reduce the mark appearance, the more you use it the better it works.

it just depends when I get a cut it usually takes about a week to heal but if you don't put cream or Neosporin on it then it might leave a scar and take longer to heal oh and if u put foundation on it be sure to put a band aid over the cut so that the cut wont get infected but try to get a band aid that is close to your skin tone. it will be easier to cover it up that way.

it depends. for it to be completely healed probably 1 week. But 3 or 4 days after you get a cut it wont hurt that much. So i think you will be able to dance.

it has no definite answer because it depends on many factors and each individual. It can take from several days to a few years. However, if you do the right things from the beginning, you should be able to speed the healing process and avoid permanent scarring if possible. Here are some pieces of advice for the quickest way to heal a cut:

The size of the cut. If it is too deep and large, stitches may be needed otherwise the cut won't heal well on its own.
If there is an infection that is going to slow down the healing.
On the person. Some people are faster healers than others...
Other health problems. For example, diabetes and obesity are common causes of slow wound healing.
