Picking out a Personal Defense Dog.

My dog had only 2 puppies, one is going to my sister but i have to see which one i am keeping for a personal defense dog. The chubby one (k9) wines a lot and is very chubby, the other one ( rebel) will bark and growl at nothing. Their only 11 days old, born on memorial day, I'm thinking of keeping rebel , is it to soon to be making these decisions? i mean he barks and growls into the air, it looks like a pretty good sign to me. k9 just cries a lot and can barely move b/c of his fat belly. I dont wanna pick the wrong one to be a personal defense dog.

I would wait before making a decision. They are still so young.

I would bring them both to the professional trainer you plan on using, they will be more able to help you choose which is the better candidate. Also if k9 is that chubby I'd mention it at your next vet visit with them.

It's impossible to tell what a dog's personality will be like at 11 days old. Dogs' personalities develop based on the way they're treated & trained.
Any dog can be a "personal defense dog," it's all about the proper training. Large breeds are obviously better for that purpose.
If you're not a dog trainer yourself, make sure to have a professional train a dog to defend you. Otherwise, it's likely you'll end up with a dog who just becomes mean, not necessarily protecting you, just plain aggressive toward everyone.
