Why is it when I'm trying to make an iTunes account it asks me for a credit card even though I just want to get free stuff not buy anything?

thats ok, ignore it. all i do is buy the $15 gift cards at walmart or wegmans, and when you go to itunes click 'redeem' under the email address you're using for it and type in the code on the back of your card. sometimes itunes makes you read that thing about the new rules and stuff but just click 'i agree' and then you're moving on. :)

It's just the way they do it. They want you ready to buy stuff. I had the same concern. Don't worry. They don't charge without your approval and then they send you invoice for purchases.

You dont have to put a credit card In. There's a button that say something like skip this or something.
