Dry dog food is fine for dogs. I have fed my dogs dry dog food for their whole lives, and they still love it. To ensure that they are getting enough liquids, I add about a cup and a half of water to their dry food before giving it to them. I also give them some leftover dinner food occasionally .
I'm not sure why he won't eat that, but if he seems to like dry dog food, that should be fine. Just make sure you gets a good brand. I feed my dogs Natural Choice, and they seem to like it.
If he isn't eating much food of any kind, then you should probably take him to the vet after a few days.
Dogs like to crunch, part of their genetics. Their ancestors were scavengers & ate bones as an addition to their meals, marrow was an important part of their diet. You are aware that they - Pet Food companies sell their huge bones in the stores. Crunchy food is what they like, humans the same way - some like crunchy chips & etc. meow
