Is it possible to legally restrain a business from calling me if I've told them to stop?

There is a trade school/college in Ontario that I submitted my number to to enquire about their course programmes, and after a couple of phone calls from them I politely said that I wanted more time and I would call them back on my own when I was ready to get started with a program of theirs. Lately they have been calling on a daily basis, and I've got them blocked on my phone but they have also sent me letters in the post. I do not want them calling me anymore, nor do I want to be notified that they have called which is the case when they call my cell phone. Is there something I can do legally to prevent them from contacting me further if I tell them firmly to stop?

If you are speaking of Ontario, Canada, you can place your phone #'s on our NDCL, (National Do Not Call) list. As far as the mail, I would certainly ask a lawyer about that, as that is in it's own way is harassment. Keep them for proof of your claim. You can find the NDCL at www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/insnum-regnum-eng Good luck!
