Are ouija boards dangerous?

In my literal experience,... Yes they are. It#039;s a doorway. my grandmom had one when my dad and aunt were little and it hid itself just so they couldn't say goodbye and close it. they found it 20 some years later in the rafters in the attic. also when I was 12 my sister who was 16 had one for her 16th bday party and they were playing with it. stuff happened and the board was out away. after that I had my first experience with a ghost, but not my last. it also doesn't matter who makes it or even if you make a home made one the meaning is all the same. I learned in my 20's the only way to get rid of it was to close it by saying good bye and then breaking the board in half.

From previous testimonies thru the years from other friends and acquaintances...they are not a wise source to get answers from the spirit world. The Bible is your best source for history, life choices and true wisdom!

What happen to us that we found out is that a malevolent spirit will pose as a helpless child wanting his parents or something of the sort and once it's out it'll scare you and have you put the board away without saying goodbye leaving it open to roam.

Jen, you DO realize ghosts aren't really real, right?

You don't have to "ask" for the demon to come thru. It will anyway. If you open that door, even if you think you're getting a human spirit, demons will manipulate things and make sure they get thru. You don't have to ask them. Who in their right mind would ask a demon to come thru anyway. They'll take advantage, disguise themselves as humans and by the time you realize it, it's already too late---the demon's gained entry. The best thing to do is avoid them at all costs, for the sake of yourself and those around you.

I think my seven year old even realizes ghosts and spirits don't really exist. He enjoys PRETENDING with his friends.... Have you nothing more than a grade school level of intelligence?
Report as
No. I have 2 college degrees thank u very much and a 2-yr paralegal degree. I wouldn't dare criticize some1 as u have me, especially for something like answering a question on a site like this! Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion and ur lack of understanding that shows ur own intelligence level. U r entitled to ur opinion, as I am mine but that duznt mean u need to put some1 down or insult them to express it. More pple today believe in the paranormal, i.e., spirits, possessions, angels & demons, than do not. Those who experience the paranormal know for a fact it exists. Our country was founded on a belief in a higher Spirit, if u remember correctly. Just because u don't agree with it duznt give u the right to condemn me. Narrow-minded people will always b the first to condemn. Altho we don't hang people for their beliefs any more, ur words slice as harmfully as the gallows did on those who died in Salem all those years ago just because they were "different". I see times haven't changed much at all. Criticism will get u nowhere. Mayb a little tolerance of others and respect for what they believe in, even if it's different from ur own beliefs, will help u not to b so critical.

Report as
Oh come off it. I am very kind and tolerant of people I interact with face to face. No one needs that level of gentleness when on a site specifically catering to free and open discussion of these topics. You wish not to discuss with anyone who might change your mind away from your childhood fantasies, block me. You'll never hear from me again.

Always light and burn white candles, say the lords prayer and always ask for spirits of white light. It is not a game and shouldn't be treated as such. Do not use the board if you are not going to treat it seriously or with respect.

Yes don't play it. My mom did with a cousin and told me she wish she hadn't and she advises to Never use one. But she never told me what happened!

They most likely got scared. They might have even giggled. Tell me, has your Mom ever advised you to avoid telling ghost stories. Those also cause spooky shivers and giggling girls.

Who at the factory makes it such a bad game. It gives you what your mind wants it to say. Who ever made this didn't realize this would be a money maker

YES! YES! YES!! U should never "play" with a Ouija board. They are not "toys" as have been advertised. They are a doorway for demons to enter. Even if you try to contact a human spirit, you cannot control what is coming thru and therefore should be left alone. Demons look for any way they can to control humans and the Ouija board just gives them permission to do so. So please, for your own sake, don't do it!!

Your spirit is made up of your thoughts and other brain activities. There is no danger of a devil meme or haunting spirit infiltrating that unique and private place known as your own personal arrangement of neurons.

No1 knows exactly what ur spirit is made up of. I take it u don't believe in God, or any other spirit. There is good & evil in this world and as I sed earlier, more people believe that than do not. U cannot categorically state AS A FACT that "there is no danger of ...." b/c it's never been proven OR disproven. That is ur opinion, not a fact, and u r entitled to it as am I mine. Obviously ur a skeptic, and I respect that. Lots of people are. But those of us who have faith know there are things in this world that cannot b explained. If they could, then our world wouldn't b nearly as fascinating as it is in every way and scientists wouldn't still b studying things about it we don't know yet. Yes we've somewhat reached the "Age of Enlightenment" but there are still many, many things man has yet to know or discover. :)

It's nice that (6 months after the fact--holy cow) you realize that there is a great deal we don't know. And that there are many different opinions about what is going on. But just because someone can think it, doesn't make it so. And this is exactly how religious beliefs are treated. No one wants to belittle anyone else's crazy beliefs for fear that their own crazy beliefs will be so treated.

No, I don't believe in God, nor any other spirit. Can it ever be proven one way or another? No. But when you have 10,000,000 pieces of evidence AGAINST the God Hypothesis, and only some old Book and a wide range of fanciful beliefs that disagree with each other FOR it, it seems clear to me that the "There is no God" stance and the "There is a God and He so happens to be exactly as my mommy described Him" stance are NOT on equal footing.

Sorry bout the time frame but I am disabled and too sick most of the time to check things online on a continual weekly or monthly basis. This past 6 months has been especially bad and I've also had 2 deaths in my immediate family, had my car & my identity stolen, so I've not felt like being online until just recently. Just to explain that. But as I sed and u obviously agree with, none of this can b proven or disproven as fact. It's a matter of faith, or ur particular opinion on the matter. But whatever that opinion I think we shud all respect others if they're different from ours, and even if we don't agree with them, let them have the right to express it without demonizing or putting down that person based on what they believe. If I'm hearing u correctly, u agree with this. If some1 isn't willing to at least allow that person to express a different opinion than theirs,, that's intolerance and it duznt sound like ur doing that so much as u r stating ur own opinion. Live & let live, I say. This world needs more tolerance, don't u agree?!

It's pretty disturbing reading all these answers that touching a piece of cardboard is the most dangerous thing you can do.

Nope. They're a fun way for groups of friends to spook themselves out, kinda like ghost stories. If ouija boards could actually do anything, 1) they'd be used more often and 2) the crazies would have all the influence.
