G are children movies and PG is for parents to check out the movie before they let their young kids watch it: may contain unsuitable elements for children based on the rating

G- general audiences
PG- parental guidance ( there could be scenes you'd rather not let your children see)

PG movies can be inappropriate for the younger ones. For example: PG movies are allowed a certain number of curse words, PG movies can only use the "d" and "h" word, but G movies aren't allowed any.
