the point is that you are given this gift(life) to share(communicate, enjoy) with the people around you and the time between your birth and death to experience new things...dont waste it by thinking like that!
The point of life is hidden in your personal story. Everyone has a story. It's the story of your life, who you are as a person, what you stand up for. It is recorded in all the lives you touch in big ways and in lots of little ways. The point of life is advancing the legacy of the human race. It's not about changing the world, or curing cancer, or saving lives. It's about living your life in the most human way possible. The point of life, of your life, your story, is the pursuit of truth. It's embodying the best person you can be. It's about believing in the good in people, and standing up for ideals not when it's easy, but when you're scared, or alone. It's about learning, and the universal journey of personal growth. It's about the exploration of the arts, and the understanding of history. It's about doing your small part to further the story of Earth, and humanity. To shape a future that has learned from the mistakes of the past. It's about playing your part in the living story that is happening all around you.
You have a chance to experience the greatest phenomena in the universe: conscious life. If you need meaning in your life, extend yourself to help others - humans often get profound meaning in helping their fellow humans thrive.
Why do we get happy and sad, why do we work and gain, why do we cry and laugh. I'm a Muslim and Islam taught me that this life is a test, and we're the students we should learn and get more experience so you gotta live and work.

If we are going to die and then full stop . then there is no objective difference or point , only subjective which is to help people in different ways , to earn people respect , to improve and help the society ...etc
if we are going to be equal in grave , then it doesn't matter , to live 20 or 100 year , be good or evil . to kill or to be killed . your end is the same , so it doesn't matter .
but if there is an afterlife , then everyone will be recompensed by what he has earned . if he was good ,he will get the reward , and if he was bad he will get the punishment
Life, of itself, is worth living. The fireside of affection, the democracy of home, the sacredness of family, the happy pursuit of liberty, equality, and love – all these are more than enough to make living the grandest aspiration of life.
There is no Monster in the sky who delights in the agony of man. These frightful things are savage lies. I would rather have been the mortal peasant in this known life with my loving wife by my side -- with my children upon my face and their arms about me -- and go down to the silence of dreamless death, than to waste life being miserable hoping for unknown immortality in the Christian Heartless Heaven.
The greatest question is not, who died right, but who lived right. Death is the most unimportant event of life. While living you can augment the happiness of your fellow-men; and the man who has made others happy need not be afraid to die. There is unspeakably more comfort in the idea that every sorrow ends here, than that it is to be perpetuated forever.
What happens to one will happen to all. If there is another life, every human will have the infinite opportunity of doing right - the eternal opportunity to reform and to enjoy.
That is a valid question, you know, it's even found in the bible (Job 14:1). The bible actually teaches that it is not God's original purpose for us to die, and He will soon bring an end to death forever (Revelation 21:1-4).
I think you will find this article encouraging as well..
That's like saying "why make my bed if I'm just going to sleep in it by tonight" Going to bed in an unmade bed feels terrible. Never a good nights sleep. I guess this is a matter of choice, and your outlook on things
Ninja-Kitty: In our own case today, is a brief existence, often marred by suffering, Is this what life meant to be? " When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. His sin spread death throughout all the world, so everything began to grow old and die, for all sinned."(Romans 5:12). Living Bible. "The sin of this one man, Adam caused death to be king over all." (Romans 5:17). Living Bible Frustration results from a life course that conflicts with the Creator's requirements and his guidelines for Happiness. " Don't be misled; remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it; a man will always reap just the kind of crop he sows!" (Galatians 6:7) Living Bible The inheritance of sin from Adam prevents humans from having at present full enjoyment of life as God purposes at the beginning. The Bible has the answers, to all your questions. Check it out, during the thousands of years of mankind's history, men's search for God has led down many pathways. The result has been the enormous diversity of religious expression found worldwide. Which has made it difficult for many to find God. Please check out for yourself what does the Bible really teach. Have a nice day. :-)
That IS the point. This life is temporary. It's like an open book test. (Tests last only for a short period of time. Eventually, you'll receive the results.) Only the hereafter is permanent. And what our beliefs and deeds are now, will determine how we'll end up in the hereafter. (Either in Hell, or Heaven. Hopefully Heaven.)
To get that answer we must look at the first human pair, Adam & Eve. When God created them what was their purpose in life? Simply put they were to be caretakers of the earth and to have children and to fill the earth - Genesis 1:26 -28. God's purpose to have a righteous human race here on the earth has not changed - Psalms 37:11 & 29. Jesus also mentioned this at Matthew 5:5 where he said "Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth." Hope this is helpful.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says Jehovah made us with "time indefinite within our hearts". Jehovah "designed" us, our bodies and minds, with the choice to live forever. Death is not a fault in the design. The bible says that death is the result/fault of one mans poor choice Romans 5:12. In short Jehovah has made provision to cover that mans error Romans 6:23 providing opportunity for our bodies and minds to work in harmony with its designed purpose. This presents us with a personal choice to take up the provision from Jehovah for everlasting life or not. Good starting place is to examine personally what the bible really teaches.
