The Japanese tie a fabric belt tight around the forehead . Then lay on your bed stomach down. Lace your hands across your forehead and put your face into the pillow. The hands laced on the forehead props it up so you can breathe. Go into meditative state with room dark and no noise. Try to fall asleep. This is what I've done for years . The problem is to have conditions right to do this-no children around, not at work, things of that sort. But it works. (unless a tornado is coming-then it's a pressure headache)
A lot of water. The headache could be from dehydration. Sleep. Exercise. Distractions. Hanging out with friends, family, or doing something to keep yourself busy. An ice pack, or a heat pack on your neck.
gel cold pack which wraps around the forehead chilled or frozen leave on for about 15 mins will help to bring down inflammation in the frontal areas of the brain plus a few large glasses of cool water I have found this to be quite effective depending on the cause and nature of the headache Julian from NZ
Ok well my sister had been getting MASSIVE head aches. So my mom took her to the doctor and he said that sometimes artificial sweeteners can cause head aches. So try to lay off the diet drinks, sugar free foods and drinks, and putting splenda in your coffee. After she stopped eating those foods, her head ache went away. Its really tough but it works.
Oxygenate your blood by doing some breathing exercises. Go to a quiet, dimly lit room, and focus on breathing as deeply as possible. Close your eyes - 10 seconds breathe in until you feel like you're going to pop, exhale 10 seconds until you almost feel like you're running out of air. When you exhale, use your abs to push the air out, but remain calm and don't do it too strenuously. Focus on the sound of your breathing.
Well, besides the obvious things, (Sleep, water, noise reduction, ect.) I've found that a good thing to try is a candy cane. A mint will work just as well, but for some reason I've found that candy canes work a lot better. Hope I could help. :)
Well first of all get away from whatever caused it (if you know what caused it). Then drink lots of water, sleep if possible and if it's really really bad then you could take medicine. I have gotten candy canes before and sucked on them. I found that, that really helped as long as it's minty. If you don't know what caused the headache then try to find out why. Some of the reasons might be lack of sleep, DE-hydration, hormonal un-balance or hormonal changes, caffeine, and not having enough oxygen in your body. (in your blood and flowing through your head which may be caused by smoking).

Well many have already answered :) According to me as well the best way to get relieve from headache is, 1. Drink plenty of cool water. 2. Go to a quiet, dark, cool and well ventilated room. 3. Finally you need not think a lot, just relax and forget everything and try to sleep!! A soft and balanced pillow will help a lot.
Above is applicable only for headaches caused due to common reasons like over work, stress, less sleep etc. I have got 100% result till date.
If it still exists after few hours then I would suggest to visit a doctor.
