Is there something called a "quarter note delay" in music, and if so, what is it?
Jelly seems right. I was confused at first because I've never heard the term "delay" being part of a note. I was thinking of the effects pedal.
You're probably think of a quarter rest. It's when you stop playing for a quarter notes worth of time. Like for example if the piece you're playing has a 4/4 time signature then you don't play for one beat
It's just a quarter rest, no need to sound scientifical when talking about music :)
There is no quarter note delay in music. your talking about a quarter rest (1 count of silence)
