What's wrong with me?

So I got sunburned real bad on Saturday. I started to peel on Thursday, which is kinda quick, and of course i pealed off as much dead skin I could. (I've been sunburned before and never had a problem with it) It was really strange. It was all scaly and dry and stuff and it still hurt real bad. So I thought it was just dry skin so I decided to put some lotion on it. BIG MISTAKE!! it burned soooo bad! it was terrible! so I washed it off real quick and I've been waiting for it to heal. why did this happen? is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process?

Well the skin underneath the surface of your skin was visible. I'm not quite sure what it's called but I do know that it is the part of your skin with the nerves in it. This part of the skin is usually visible in first and second degree burns. Anyway, this "underneath" skin really doesn't like other things touching it which is why it hurt so bad when you put lotion on it. This skin is also the reason why it hurts so bad when you cut yourself.

Aloe vera is the best for sunburn, it feels good. It is not good to peel period.

You probably peeled off more layers of skin than the regular amount of layers that would have peeled.

When was the last time you had a sunburn? Have you had puberty through that time difference? Bc puberty can cause the skin to be more sensitive to things.
