How do you spell doughnuts? Donuts or doughnuts?
I never can get the right answer!!!!
Doughnuts.... You had it right. .Companies like to save money or space and shorten words:)
Technically it is "doughnut" but "donut" has been around since the 1800s. http://grammarist.com/spelling/doughnut-donut/ "Donut" is in the dictionary as a word which means "Doughnut" so both are acceptable. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/donut?s=thttp://dictionary.reference.com/browse/doughnut
It could be either but once I was watching a TV show on doughnut bakeries and an owner was asked that question and he responded "it's doughnuts. They're made out of dough, not do." I thought that was pretty funny.
