I agree with Boo, Jon Huntsman, also Colin Powell would be a good choice. But lets be realistic here, the chances for a republican becoming president in 2016 is slim to none. Anyone that can make it through the ultra-conservative GOP primaries wouldn't have a prayer with the largely moderate average Americans in a general election. Conversely anyone that the average American would vote for would be torn apart by conservatives in the primaries. Until the GOP can figure out what to do with their vocal radicals this conundrum isn't going to change. You might be waiting until 24, 28, 32, who knows?!? :-/
Likely, the nominee will be either Jeb Bush (if he runs) or Rand Paul. Dark horses are Paul Ryan and Chris Christie. At the moment, Rand Paul has been doing the work to make a run, and Jeb is doing the bare minimum to be considered a contender. The rest aren't doing what one would expect of a candidate.

Hang pictures on your wall, put a blindfold on, and throw a dart, it just doesn't matter. This works well with both parties. Its the lobbyists who run the country, they have a hand in all decisions, by promising money, and good jobs, for politicians when they leave office. it's a shame that the only way a president can get things done is thru executive division.
The governor of New Jersey is setting himself up for 2016. He is the only one who can win because he knows you can win the base of the party with that hate Obama mess but you can't win over the people who want substance. This guy will either tear the party apart even more or save it by acting like he has some sense. Bobby Jindal died from his hatred of Obama! Rubio has a concussion from banging his head against the wall of insanity in the Republican Party. Rand Paul is more sane than his dad but he is from a crazy family.
