Is alligator "acquiring" called hunting, or fishing?

But when I fish, I'm preying on the fish
Report as
Yeah, and you're using a rot and reel.... When you're hunting, you usually use something that shoots. You don't shoot your fish, do ya? BOOM!
Report as
Well... You can fish with dynamite...

It is called illegal. Regardless of how you acquire them.

I'm talking legal hunting, not poaching
Report as
Depends on how you acquire then. You arent fishing with a shot gun... and you arent hunting with a pole. If you use the rope pole then you are probably considered hunting........ I guess.

Psst...I can't remember where the comment thread is (when I asked you about your truck...day cab, color). I think it'd be awesome to run into you (figuratively speaking). If I do...coffee is on me.
Report as
White day cab. White or silver trailer usually. I run I 75 north to I 10 west to the dumpy little Penn Oil station that is currently under construction. I do that 2 to 3 times a night. 400 to 600 miles a night. Boring... and underpaid. Am looking for something else. It would be awesome to run into you too. I was just thinking about that yesterday myself. Lot of free time for free thinking.... odd that we were both thinking about it at about the same time.

and what color/make tractor would I find you in?? I want to be on the look out too
Report as
Dang...now I gotta admit to getting a new ride... It's a burgundy (gulp) Freightshaker Cascadia. Yep...the Pinto of all trucks. :(
White Utility reefer trlr with a shiny quilted hiney
Since I do most of my driving at night and it sounds like you do too...the odds are looking good!
Report as
That is true. I make that run every Mon thru Thurs 2 to 3 times. Fridays I generally only run once.
Burgundy, huh?

There are two other people that make this run as I do in the same tractor trailer combos. (white day cabs) Just so you know. I am not the fat one... nor am I the one with limited mental capacity.

Time to get off here and start getting ready for work. I have the early runs tonight. Do you just come to Florida often or do you live here?
Report as
Florida is one of my regular runs...usually once a week. Oranges from Cali to Florida...then oranges from Florida to Cali... That was an actual load!! This time it was cooler...golf cart limos out of Florida...cool load ;)
Report as
California oranges to Florida and Florida oranges to California???? You gotta be kidding? LOL. Over the road would be a lot more interesting that what I am doing.

The guys in Baton Rouge call it hunting (as long as it's legal).

Even though their habitat is in water or near water laying upon the bank. I would have to say it's clearly obvious that you're hunting instead of fishing. They're not fish, but a reptile and are predators so if plan on hunting them. DON'T BECOME THEIR PREY! >:)

I don't plan on being prey, but it's such a good feeling not being at the top of the food chain
Report as
So middle?
Report as
No specific place in preference, but not at the top, and not second- too much expectation there
Report as
Are you seriously thinking about going and hunting for alligators?
Report as
Heck to the yeah. Not today of course... My buddy Kurt is a hunting/fishing madman! I'm sure he'd be more than happy to show me how it's done
Report as
It's such a relief to know that you've got somebody to go and be there to show you and help if trouble occurs. Lol
