How do i turn decimals into fractions?

Report as

If you have a decimal like .4, then you take the 4 and make it 4/10. Then you simplify it by dividing 4 and 10 both by 2. That gives you 2/5. If you have .23, then you make it 23/100, because 23 is higher than 10, so the bottom number has to be 100. You cannot simplify this because both numbers can't go into anything.

What about a whole number like 4.00?
Report as
It would be 4/1 which equals 4
Report as
Huh? So 89 would be 89/1?
Report as
Yes, 89 would be 89/1 as a fraction, but a more simplified version of it would be just 89.

Write it how is sounds
Ex. 0.4 or 4 tenths 4/10 you can divide it by 2 and get 2/5

Divide the numerator (top) by
The denominator (bottom).
Use long division or your calculator.
Examples:
1) 3/4 = .75
2) 9/8 = 1.125
3) 1 1/2 = 3/2 = 1.5
4) 2/3 = .666... or .67 about

you just divide the decimals too example 4.6= 2.3

A really easy way to do it is to divide the numerator by the denominator.
EXAMPLE:
1/2 = 1 divide by 2 is 0.5
2/3 = 2 divide by 3 is 0.66
Another way if you are good at math is to make the denominator 100 so then it is super easy.
EXAMPLE:
5/10= 10 times 10= 100 5 times 10 = 50 so the answer would be 50/100
What ever you multiply the bottom by you have to multiply the top by the same number.
Hope I helped.
