Is it better to completely replace the part when you have a crack in you exhaust manifold or get it patched?

I have a 2002 Honda civic which I recently found out has a crack in the Manifold. I am pretty sure it's better to just get it replaced, but it is very expensive. I know that patching it is much cheaper, but will it actually hold up?

maybe JB Weld would do the trick until you are able to have it replaced

Replace the pipe. The patches usually blow out. And you don't want the risk of an engine fire.

Replacing is always better, depending on crack it may not be able to be fixed. It's an 02 car so I'd check aroun salvage yards and try an find a cheap used one in good shape
