That is a difficult call because brownies are not at all like cakes. They are supposed to be moist and chewy. The toothpick test can cause them to be too dry. I suggest you set your oven timer as specified for the size pan you are using. And if that turns out to not be long enough (or too long), then adjust the time the next time you bake a batch, as oven temps can vary. The judge at the county fair commented that my mint brownies were too thick to eat! My daughter she would eat them but they wouldn't let her, lol. We had already demolished all that was left at home.
The toothpick test works for cakes, but not not brownies unless you want them overdone. Brownies are done when the edges have pulled a little away from the sides of the pan. Let cool entirely before cutting with a plastic knife. (Using plastic means brownie won't get stuck to the knife.)
stick a fork or a tooth pick in the middle and if it is soft it well it depends if u like them super soft or not like if u like them super soft then take them out but if u dont than keep them in a little longer

Poke a small hole in the middle of the brownie with a toothpick. Then, take it out. If some brownie batter is stuck to it then it means it's not ready, but if there is no brownie batter stuck to it that means it's ready. Hope this helped!
They continue to cook after you take them out...if you like them chewy, take them out while knife/toothpick is still gooey. If you like them cakey, add an additional egg, and take the out when knife/toothpick is dry. Cooling rack! Away from oven! Brownies are yummy! Add graham cracker crust to the bottom; frosting to the top...Add nuts, marshmallows, dried fruit...go crazy! BROWNIES ARE YUMMY!
Get a toothpick and if it comes out clean their done if it comes with brownie things leave them in for 5 more min. but when you are baking them leave them in for 15 min. before you put a toothpick or knife into the browines
