Can you use text messages in Indiana for small claims court?

I have to go to court in July. I am taking my landlord to small claims court. I have text messages from her, can I use them as actual evidence?

Yes, if the text messages are statements against the landlord's interest. You also have to establish some things like the text came from her, the phone number the text came from is your landlord's number, and the text should have some sort of time stamp. You might want to bring a cell phone bill with you from the month the text was sent. The judge/commissioner will most likely ask you about some of these things since it's small claims court.

You can use the text messages for small claims court in Indiana. Provided the messages are evidence of the case, the judge will use that to make his/her judgment after confirmation that they are actually from the alleged person.
