What are some tips for high school?!

I'm an incoming freshman and I'm terrified!! Going to a huge school and know like 3 people (none of my friends are going though)

its not as bad as people make it out to be. i goto public school and i have more problems with the teachers then the kids.
just be your self. dont get involved in drama. and get good grades. maybe get involved in some after school activities.
the only people who get bullied is the people who are dating and are always trying to be in the loop. so make good friends.

be yourself, don't change anything about you, be on time, dont mess with the older grades and dont sweat it! it's not that bad and its pretty easy to make friends with people in your classes.

felt the same way. i am awkward and shy and i felt way out of place and scared walking in the first day. just be yourself and try to introduce yourself and dont worry you will make friends! people will be nice to you. other people are scared too. i tried talking to a lot of the new people who were in the same situation as me with no friends there. its really easy to make friends that way. soon enough you will know your way around and your schedule and get used to everyone and everything around you. highschool is a time to meet people and form relationships and people will be anxious to meet you and get to know you so be yourself and have no fear

I was just like you when I started high school. For me everyone that came from the school I used to go to hung out with each other until we found other friends.
Be friendly to people and say "hi". You will make friends in your classes soon! At lunch just find someone you either know or is from one of your classes and ask if you can eat with them.
If they have a map of the school you can look at it before you start classes to make sure you know where to go. If you are lost ask one of the teachers how to get to class.
After a week you will probably know your way around and have friends.
If you have any questions just ask me!
Good luck :)

In my freshman year, EVERYONE was nice to me. And I was the nerdy boy with glasses, in marching band.

1. It sounds cliche, but Be Yourself. There'll be some days where your sense of identity is challenged, where people will pressure you to do things you don't want to do. Just remember that you own your body and your thoughts and you'll always be happiest at the end of the day if you stay true to who you are. Also tying into this- your True friends will love you for You, and won't try to change you.
2. There will be people who try to talk down to you and make you feel self conscious. Ignore them, because you're beautiful :)
3. Any boy/girl you meet and fall for who treats you like less than you deserve, dump him/her and move on.
4. Always be compassionate and kind to others; don't Ever be a bully. Everyone is fighting their own battles.
5. Eventually you may be introduced to things like skipping class and smoking weed, and to be honest, it can be fun. But don't forget to keep up your grades, because at the end of your senior year when you have to send in transcripts to colleges, they'll see all your grades, and if they're bad, you'll have trouble getting accepted anywhere. You don't want to be stuck at home while all your friends are off at universities.
6. Accept that you'll make mistakes. You'll go through embarrassing angsty teenage phases, you'll say and do things you don't mean, you'll make friends who are bad influences and date the wrong guy and get a few D's. But it's okay :) We all struggle sometimes but we all get to start over again in the morning. These are all just things I wish someone had told me when I first started however many years ago. Good luck!
