I Can't Sleep?!?!

OK so I will stay up til 5:30 or later in the morning just sitting in the dark trying to sleep and I get really mad cause all I wanna do is sleep I told my dad and he wont let me take a pill for it or anything he wont even take me to the doctor. i mean im not thinking about tomorrow or anything i just sit there not thinking of anything i have tried everything to sleep... watching tv, didn't work, go on my phone ,didn't work, sit in dark, didn't work, read didn't work, listen to music didn't work!!!!!!! ugh its so frustrating will someone please help me?! is there something wrong with me?

yes,there's something wrong with you. but I don't mean it like " WRONG"!! this is temporary. I've dealt with extreme insomnia for decades( off and on) . believe it or not,a few of the " folk remedys" worked. at least a couple of times. I used the halfcup of warm milk together with a halfcup of chamomile tea.I had to drink it as quickly as the temperature allowed.but it would work at least one or two nights back to back.auto-hypnosis worked as well.took some practice,but I was up anyway.lol keep trying things until you learn how to make your self do it.btw,your dad is right to keep the chemicals out of it. wow! what a nightmare that I caused myself by using them.

Try working yourself to a frazzle during the day and see if it does not get you to sleep before 10PM. A hot or warm bath also helps relax your muscles and sleep faster and better. Taking a glass of warm milk and/or a banana is also known to help.

Warm bath, not hot. A hot bath raises your blood pressure. It's not healthy like people think. Working hard is a good way to get to sleep. It tires you out and makes you feel like you accomplished something. Feeling good about yourself will help you sleep.

Make sure you are eating the right foods. Get some exersize. You don't need a lot. Just a short (20 - 30 min) walk per day. Really, no junk food. Don't drink a lot. No drugs. If you weigh too much, get down to at least 20 pounds above your best weight. If you are underweight, it's worse. It's best to be a little heavy, really. And you will look a lot better if you are a little heavy than if your underweight. When you are underweight, you look unhealthy. Don't fool yourself in this department like so many people do.

Go to sleep before 10 or 9 and if you keep on doing this i swear you'll be tired and sleep easily, this happens to me too

make yourself exhausted by working or study and don't take snap during your daytime. You'll have a good sleep at night!

I feel you as its 5 in the morning now. You should just close your eyes and relax not tossing and turning for at least a few hours. Believe it or not this will recharge your body some. After that do a chore ask or two, maybe read a book etc. Until you get tired or fall asleep.

Same here! But its just that your mind is all like "You dont have school anymore for a while so lets stay up all night and sleep all day" lol.

Me too! Chamomile tea helps, they say. I use to have this problem and I ended up take the pill. I only took it for two weeks when I forgot to take it one night and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out. I think it trained my brain to shut down and I havent had to take it sense.
I dont know how old you are, but im assuming under 18 since you have to ask your dad. He right...you don't want to expose your body to those medications that are out there at such an early age. Especially with the side effects that tgey could have while taking them or years down the road when they've been recalled.

do exercises untill you be very tired and you will sleep easly
