Are lie detector tests accurate?

I always see them on TV shows, but I don't know if it's fake or not. If they are real/accurate why don't they just use them in a court room to speed up the guilty or not guilty process

They're not accurate enough. They are too subjective, and the results often depend on the person administering the test. The results of a lie detector test are not admissible in criminal trials.

I don't think so... Because I don't understand why they wouldn't just use a lie detector to see if someone murdered another. All they have to do is say "did you murder anyone?" And since its yes or no, he can just say no, and then it'll say he's lying. Wouldn't that be so much simpler than court and having investigations trying to collect clues and getting blood samples? They really should fix whatever glitch it has, because it'd be much nicer to know no one is in prison on a crime they didn't commit.

No,that's why they can't be used in a court of law.

They are not considered to be reliable scientific evidence. They can be helpful in less important situations but are not foolproof.
