Do Catholics believe in zombies?

I am Catholic and I was just wondering..

Report as

although the word zombie is popular in haiti, thank you tony, catholics do not believe in "Zombies" but they do believe in the resurrection of the death. I am not sure how that would translate into zombies, but it is on the Creed if you read the Roman Catholic Creed.

I am Catholic and I do not believe in zombies. Out of curiosity, what would bring you to the conclusion that zombies are part of the Catholic faith?

Maybe the question should be "Do Christians believe in zombies?" It's not just a Catholic thing.. It should apply to every inhabitant of Christian belief, I believe, and no, I think zombies are a figment of ones imagination.

This from a foot-note in the Penguin Classics "The Portable Dante", which while not exactly the "horse's mouth", does present us with an interesting example:

"According to [Catholic] Church doctrine, under certain circumstances a living person may, through acts of treachery, lose possession of his soul before he dies... Then, on earth, a devil inhabits the body until its natural death." Alighieri, Dante, and Mark Musa. The Portable Dante. The Divine Comedy: Inferno. New York: Penguin Classics, 2003. 184. Print.

I don't know if the post Vatican II Doctrine differs in any way.
