When treating a mild case of bacterial vaginosis with a clove of garlic, is it necessary to use cheesecloth as the fabric?

Rather than wrapping the garlic clove in cheesecloth, could one simply disassemble a feminine article and use it instead? I know it may seem like an odd idea, but it's far too late in the night to actually go and buy the fabric..

I really hope you've had this okayed by your doctor.
If this is some "home remedy" that hasn't been okayed by your doctor, please do not do it.
There are so many things, a UTI to mention one, that can happen by doing this.
As for the answer to your question. If your doctor told you to do this, you need to follow what he's said. Use a cheesecloth.

(Are you male or female? Is this for you or someone else?) Remember, anything dealing with your cookie can migrate upwards to your kidneys and create serious problems. This is easily treated with antibiotics at this stage. (A doctor would never recommend this garlic thing.)

It is necessary to use cheesecloth when treating a mild case of bacterial vaginosis with garlic clove. This is recommended by the doctors so as to ensure safety and reduce the risk of urinary tract infection. You should consult with your doctor for alternative medication.

Like everybody else here, I strongly suggest a doctor. Any time of the day or night is a bad time to self-diagnose... I don't mean to jump to assumptions, but if you had an official diagnosis, wouldn't you have prepared right then?
