How do I get the motivation to lose weight?

I went on a full diet and exercise plan last summer and lost 30 pounds. I gained even more of it back now. I think it's because I can't see the difference in my body, even though other people can, so I thought it was all for nothing. How do I get the motivation to lose weight if I can't see a difference?

Every time you want to eat or quit your workout, Try to think about someone you'd love to have a body like them..
Good luck (:

I'm in the same boat as you are. I need to lose weight but I didn't have the motivation. What else helped me is exercising with friends/family and being in a weight lose bet. Try not to weigh your self every day. You should only weigh yourself once a month. Hope this helps.

For motivation purpose go to Abercrombie Fitch and Hollister for shopping :).Dont follow any diet plan which u cant continue for the rest of your life.Just eat food you like in lesser portions.Keep track of calories you take in.Exercise regularly,by this way u will lose weight slowly but it will be maintained always.

Find something that is active that you love to do. I hate running, but I love biking, so I don't force myself to run, I bike instead, so it feels less like exercising and more like fun. Also, a dog can be good motivation because they will have to be exercised.

Recently, I've found myself going to different bridal shops & trying on wedding dresses, imagining how I will look on my wedding day (honey I'm not even engaged, but one day I will be). I like the mermaid style wedding dresses because they're fitted, but I wasn't too happy about how I looked in the dresses. Im about 5-8, 180 lbs and I would like to get down to 165 & tone up. That was my motivation, believing that one day I will be married but wanting to look my best on that day. I like neomi07 comment & she's right, find your motivation and go for it. I have started working out & running almost daily. It's the enter drive inside me that won't give up. I told myself I've already endured to much pain & soreness to go back. You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!

Think about how you looked when you finally lost the weight. Do you want tht again? And then the matter of you did it once, why not do it again?...... If you are going to go with that theory and you manage to lose the weight, you cant just say "I guess that's it" and then go tear up a back of Cheetos. you need to stick to your diet even when you lose the weight. You can eat a burger or 2, yeah, but don't over do it like you did to gain it back. If that don't work, stare at a picture of Chanel west coast and say, "One day, that'll be me....... One day"

Imagine yourself how you want to be! Also, think about how it'll pay off. Embarrassing as it is, when I'm at classes at the gym doing weighted squats and it gets to a really intense part, I whisper "bikini body" repeatedly to get me through :P .

I was the same way, but I thought of wearing clothing that I really wanted to, people I wanted to impress and look good for, and I thought about people complimenting the way I look. Try to think of someone you have always wanted to look like but held back because you weren't prepare for exercise. Now, push yourself so you are!!!!

I can relate; I lost 29 lbs and gained it all back. Build up your self esteem; it will create long-term weight maintenance (weight loss that sticks).

buy a quite beautiful dress for you in a smaller size, hang it in the place where you make exercises; take a photo for you when you are slimmer and hang it on the wall, you could see your photo when you feel tired to lose weight.

Find your motivation, for example mine at times was like an underdog, kind of an "oh yeah I'ma show ya'll" thing. The other important thing that kept me going was finding a physical activity that you love doing. It's all exercise in different ways so whether you fall in love with martial arts, popular sports, lesser known activities just do SOMETHING active and find something you like so it won't feel like work.

Stop focusing on losing weight and start focusing on eating healthy. Eat more fruits and veggies but be careful of all the things that you use to cook with. It can really add calories where you don't expect them to be. Cheese-try fat free or low fat. Butter, Milk, Cooking oil, Mayo, etc. It can turn a healthy meal into a not so healthy one very quickly. Instead of using salt, use other spices like ginger and curry etc...Once you stop craving "bad" foods you will start craving veggies. I promise.... I use to eat out about 5 days a week. now that i have made a habit of making food at home, we eat out about twice a month! Also, don't just jump right into a drastic diet because you are less likely to keep going with it.Small changes.. and if you fall off the wagon and eat something you shouldn't, don't just give up. Get back on and push through! Think of you diet as a lifestyle change and not a diet and you will have success!!! good luck to you!

Think wellness not weight loss.
Set reasonable goals.
LIMIT but do not ELIMINATE.
Pace yourself.
Try tipping your scales with blue.
Take stock of any and all of the positive changes new eating habits have brought you.
Celebrate the small victories!
Wear red to get going!
Trick out your tracksuit!
Drop the "perfect" mentality.
